Python / AI Platform Engineer

What you will do:


• Role Description
As a Python / AI Platform Engineer in a quantitative trading team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining backend systems that support trading, research, and operations, while driving the engineering adoption and implementation of AI capabilities across the firm.
Design and develop core trading and data-related systems, including data ingestion, cleansing and processing, reconciliation, risk monitoring, and business process automation.
• Build highly reliable data pipelines and job scheduling systems to ensure market data and trading data flow efficiently, accurately, and traceably across business systems.
• Develop internal automation tools and analytics systems to improve research, operations, and risk management efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
AI / LLM Responsibilities
• Design and implement internal AI tools and Agent systems powered by large language models (LLMs) to improve automation and intelligence across data analysis, trading monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Build AI workflow systems, including multi-step agents, tool calling, task orchestration, and automated execution mechanisms.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for internal knowledge and data retrieval, supporting research, data query, and compliance Q&A scenarios.
• Own the engineering implementation of LLM applications, including prompt management, embedding pipelines, vector retrieval, and model API integrations.
Engineering Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Python backend systems to ensure stable operation of trading and data platforms.
• Design and optimize data pipelines (ETL / ELT) to ensure high-quality data flows reliably through research and trading systems.
• Participate in database design and optimization (MySQL / PostgreSQL / NoSQL), supporting high-concurrency and large-scale data access scenarios.
• Build automated reports, monitoring systems, and business analytics tools to improve operational efficiency and data transparency.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production data anomalies and system failures to ensure system stability and data accuracy.

• Solid Python engineering skills with backend system development experience.
• Familiarity with SQL and database design, with experience in complex data processing.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and Shell scripting.
• Experience with data pipelines (ETL / workflow / scheduling).
• Strong system design and troubleshooting capabilities.
Requirements — AI / LLM Skills (Key)
• Hands-on experience developing LLM applications using APIs such as OpenAI, Claude, Qwen, or similar.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering and structured output design.
• Experience developing tool calling / function calling / agent systems.
• Understanding of or hands-on experience with RAG systems (embedding / vector search / retrieval pipeline).
• Experience designing AI workflows or automation systems (multi-step task orchestration).
Soft Skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, complex system environment.
• Strong problem decomposition and engineering mindset.
